Landside entrance to Bancroft Hall. Wooden idol - Tecumseh - the god of 2.5 and all that's evil. ["the god of 2.5" refers to a 2.5 Grade Point Average (G.P.A.), out of a possible 4.0, that a midshipman must have to continue at the USNA. Middies salute Tecumseh in hopes that he will aid them in their quest for a 2.5 or better G.P.A.]
Tecumseh, the god of 2.5. (The mite to the left is [Edward G.] E.G Hagen - not colored as it would appear.)
The 'duty' squad. This aptly illustrates why we should try to follow the straight and narrow path. Moral: Keep off the pop[?]
The chapel - a fine place to go on Sunday morning. It's a good thing for us that we get inspection before chapel, else the chaplain's advice would often be of short duration.
The start of our inter-company half-rater race - Wed. Aug 20, 1913. We started with a good lead, but busted at the first turn and never made it up. We got 2nd place tho.
Another picture of the half-rater race. The photographer was swamped by a deep sea wave in an effort to take more - therefore this shall be the last of the race.
My beloved roommate [Edward G. Hagen] - a soldierly looking young man indeed. His favorite sport is toying with useless firearms.
